Lamus Bonsmaras Farmers Day

Lamus Bonsmaras held an excellent farmer’s day with the support of Bonsmara SA, SA Studbook and Bonsmara G7 Group. The day started of with the Department of Rural Environment and Agricultural Development that gave presentations on the importance of herd management and record keeping. Louis Steyl from Bonsmara SA explained to farmers how they can use Bonsmara cattle and the Bonsmara System to their advantage in their farming enterprise. Herman Labuschagne from SA Studbook shared guidelines on how to select the right bull for your herd. Two senior Bonsmara inspectors Fanie Kruger and Andre Holl inspected a group of heifers and showed the farmers how strict a Bonsmara selection is.
